UPDATES: As Of 15 minutes ago, 9.25 Bangkok Time, Chinese Health Officals In Beijung contacted us to say the the figures told to us in the morning were wrong as their staff had apparently got figures mixed up! The official death toll remains at 426, but the numbers infected should be only 20,442 according to them , 23,214 are the numbers of suspected infected cases and that there are another 221,015 are being observed as they had been in contact with those infected. When asked about the situations reported in the other cities like Chongqing, Henan, Zhejiang etc and whether the figures included those there, the officials refused comment and simply said that they are only allowed to release these figures mentioned . We leave readers to decipher things out.)
The
coronavirus situation in China is now out of control as the death toll is now 426, with numbers of confirmed infected standing at 23,214 and 2, 618 in critical condition.
Majority of the cases being reported are from Hubei. However all figures that are reported by Chinese health authorities are not reliable due to their protocol of reporting. A death from the
coronavirus is only considered if the patient had been tested positive for the virus prior to dying. However there are thousands dying all over China after exhibiting the symptoms but as a result of not having being tested prior to dying due to scarcity of test kits, their deaths are classified as being due to other conditions. This is not fake news and can be verified by numerous doctors all over China about the standard imposed on death reporting.

The same goes for the number of those infected. In a population of 1.39 billion people, for the last 4 weeks, the numbers all over China that are exhibiting the symptoms and trying to get treatment has been phenomenal but the healthcare resources is being over stressed and cannot handle the numbers plus there are just not enough test kits, PCR machines and assay reagents to test every patient. Doctors have been instructed to test only patients in critical conditions but even then, there is still not sufficient resources for that.
It is is now estimated that almost a million are infected in China and that figure will rise exponentially by the hour as it has been discovered that the virus transmission capability is enhanced by a number of factors from being able to be spread by people that are asymptomatic ie not displaying symptoms, to the fact that the new
coronavirus has a long incubation period of up to 14 days and that is able to survive outside an host on surfaces for about 5 days at room temperature to even longer periods at cooler temperatures and that the coronavirus is found not only in cough droplets, of those infected but also in the exhaled air of those infected and also in their stools and saliva etc.
Coupled with the fact ha even the current diagnostic tests for the
coronavirus is not reliable, the implications of where this epidemic is heading to is truly scary.

The Chinese health authorities are also not reporting about other virus epicenters all over China that has been in lockdown over the last 12 days including many in Chongqing, Zhejiang, Hunan, Henan, Shenzhen and also Shanghai. The situations there have already started to resemble Hubei and cities in these provinces are looking exactly like Wuhan now with the number of infected and those dying increasing day by day.
Media reporting in various international online media is not reliable as most do not have ground staff in China at the moment and are depending on two wire agencies that only has 5 staff in China at the moment who are based in Beijing and one in Hubei. Most media outlets are only depending on materials supplied by these two agencies or by Chinese health authorities online.
Thailand medical news reporting is based on real evidence and data collated and every claim is usually backed either by medical studies, or medical statements by qualified specialists. We will not hesitate to take legal recourse against any entity that challenges any of our reports or articles.
All our past reports about the shortage of test kits, the shortage of medical supplies, the fact that the
coronavirus can be transmitted in public toilets by infected patients having diarrhea, the inaccuracy of tests etc have to date been finally confirmed by both Chinese officials in public media conferences and also by other authorities in other countries publicly. We do not report on medical matters for sensational journalism purposes unlike other media.
