Afer a long delay of 5 hours, China State and Health authorities finally relased the new death tolls for Monday morning, reporting only 150 new deaths and 409 new confirmed coronavirus infected cases bring the death toll in China to 2592 and the total number of infected cases to 77,345.They also reported that 11,477 individuals were under severe critical conditions while a total of 24,766 individuals have 'recovered' or have been 'cured.' (kindly note that none of the figures are to accepted as accurate as there had been so much discrepancies on the reporting methods of the Chinese authorities!)
A typical Chinese field hospital, a perfect 'breeding ground' for the coronavirus.
Meanwhile new reports are emerging that many of its field hospitals and health detention centers that were set up in sports stadiums, exhibition halls and schools that was meant to either serve as quarantine areas or to treat suspected cases are now turning up to be new hotbeds that are spreading the
coronavirus.
One facility in Huanggang City that houses almost 6 thousand individuals that are being quarantined reported yesterday evening that almost 32 percent of its residents have now tested positive for the
coronavirus.
It estimated that there are about 462 such field hospitals nationwide, housing more than 1.8 million people in total. Conditions inside make perfect incubation centers for the
coronavirus as it is often overcrowded with filthy sanitation services and enclosed with not much fresh air.
Chinese health authorities refused to comment on this but an investigation has been launched since yesterday on this new development according to city officials from Huanggang.
Also as reported yesterday, there are also many new cases of so called cured or treated patients being reinfected and manifesting symptoms again despite being released by hospitals in Hubei and Sichuan provinces. (

China is trying hard to project an image that it has the situation under control and that the epidemic has peaked in China and will be over by March as its economy is really at stake. It is also hoping that the world attention will be shifted away from it as cases grow in South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan and elsewhere.
