The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has publicly announced that the deadly outbreak of coronavirus could continue into next year.
Captain Jennifer McQuiston of the CDC a media briefing. "There may be additional massive cases that we identify. I do want to prepare you for that,"
Captain McQuiston is overseeing the quarantine at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas for people who arrived last week on a government charter flight from China. Earlier on Thursday, a person there became the 15th confirmed case in the U.S.
To date, about 600 people are in quarantine at military bases in the United States, including Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California, where two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.
Officials from the White house and Europe leaders are expected to make announcements early next week on new stringent measures based on new intel received by US officials.
Meanwhile China is imposing wartime measures nationwide, including ‘arresting’ citizens who look sick and placing them in detention areas without proper access to medical services. It is also closing down not only cities but also literally sealing residential complexes by welding shut gates and doors and placing their own army personnel outside.
In the last 24 hours chaotic scenes are being witnessed all over China.
