While China and even Who leadership lead by Ethiopian national Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus are claiming that
coronavirus epidemic is peaking in China and also claiming that the number of infected cases are ‘slowing’, a new report which is the 5
th in series submitted by Imperial College research team from the MRC (Medical Research Council) Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College and also part of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Infectious Disease said in its latest report that it estimated that only one out of every 19
coronavirus infected individuals in China has been tested!
The same team is also claiming that the number of infected cases and death tolls in China are much higher than being reported.
This is the first report and study by a highly credible and reputable team that is refuting China’s reported figures and must be commended for actually highlighting this to the world.
This also confirms many so called claims by doctors in China that the number of estimated
coronavirus cases in China could be as high as between 500,000 to about 1.5 million cases out of a population of 1.4 billion people and also death rates that are much higher.
China’s so calls claims of being transparent is being strongly challenged of late by many reports and at the same time it can be understandable as to why it is doing so as it economy is at stake and in reality it is also the same strategy that many countries are adopting discreetly at the moment in terms of under reporting the actual number of infected cases in their own countries in order to prevent an economic fallout.
The report also has implications that a global pandemic is imminent and that more countries should be taking proper precautions and stringent measures but not panicking.
Meanwhile as usual, China health officials today reported that its death toll from the
coronavirus at 2009, number of confirmed infected cases as 75,198 and those in severe critical condition as 12,107 (once again none of these official figures from China is credible )
