COVID-19 USA: The way that CNN and certain media projected President Trump comments about trying to explore new ways to find a way to treat COVID-19 initially even shocked us at Thailand Medical News and made us angry but then as we started to review the footages more and more, we realized that maybe we were all simply reacting to the way that the media is trying to project him and also the rest of the people close to him who seems to be literally trying to sabotage him.


 
First we have to understand that the President does not have any medical training but as any head of any country, he is simply trying to find solutions to the crisis (I cannot believe that  there is any  head of any country that would deliberately want any of its citizens to die and  he did not say that people should resort to exposing themselves to UV light or even injecting themselves with the disinfectants but merely implied that research should be looked into and that medical doctors are the ones that ultimately be recommending or administering it. In all fairness I think that even if we like or do not like a person, we should always give people a chance and also a benefit of doubt before judging them or what they saying and start tearing them down.)
 
As a person who does has no medical training, I do believe that he has problems expressing himself with regards to medical research and issues and might not even know the right terminology.
 
Interestingly, he never mentioned Lysol, Dettol, Chlorox or bleach yet the media, companies and individuals were quick to jump to conclusions and condemn the poor stressed head of state. Yes he did make a mistake of proposing UV light as maybe he did not know about the ill effects of UV light but what he was really trying to talk about was Photodynamic Therapy which has been used in certain cancer protocols and has also been proven to be able to kill certain bacteria and viruses.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a treatment that uses special drugs, sometimes called photosensitizing agents, along with light to kill cancer cells, certain bacteria and also certain viruses. The drugs only work after they have been activated or “turned on” by certain kinds of light. PDT may also be called photoradiation therapy, phototherapy, or photochemotherapy.

Depending on the part of the body being treated, the photosensitizing agent is either put into the bloodstream through a vein or put on the skin. Over a certain amount of time the drug is absorbed by the cancer cells or targeted bacteria or viruses. Then light is applied to the area to be treated. The light causes the drug to react and form a special kind of oxygen molecule that kills the cells, bacteria or viruses.


Photodynamic Therapy

The period of time between when the drug is given and when the light is applied is called the drug-to-light interval. It can be anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days, depending on the drug used.

The light used in PDT comes from certain kinds of lasers or from light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The kind of light used depends on the type of cancer, bacteria or virus and where it is located in the body. PDT is usually done as an outpatient procedure (meaning you won't have to stay in the hospital).

What researchers need to do is to find a suitable photosensitizing agents that can ‘bind or stick’ with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and that would react to the light.

Photodynamics has been used already for a long time in certain cancer treatment protocols and the have worked with supporting medical studies. China and Taiwan are actually leaders in this treatment protocol and President Trump’s suggestion actually deserves merit and warrants more research.

As far as his comments about injecting with disinfectants, he was not too far off the right track as well as yes there are disinfectants like Hypochlorous Acid and Eusol that has besides being surface disinfectants can also be ingested by the human body and even injected intravenously by medical doctors. There are so also many individuals drinking hypochlorous  acid water in very low concentrations these days as some kind of health fad but there are no real studies to support its merits and it can be dangerous as we do not know what harm that can do in the long term.

However no one should ever attempt to inject themselves with hypochlorous acid or Eusol or Chlorine dioxide as it can not only damage your kidneys and liver but also be fatal.

More research is warranted on hypochlorous acid and its efficacy against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and also developing a safe manner of delivering it into the human body at the right concentration and dosing.

The key thing in this article is that maybe President Trump was meaning well after all and does have some interesting perspectives to look at , it is just he does have enough medical background to express himself and also lacks the right advisors to help him. The media should also maybe give him a break and perhaps even help him, after all in this trying times, solidarity and being united whether we like or do not like anyone, is what is might keep at least most of us alive.
