U.S.News: President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have contracted the COVID-19 disease according to an announcement by Trump himself and also by his wife and the first announcement was not by any White House official or Health Professional!
President Donald Trump announced early Friday that he and his wife both tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, an extraordinary development coming months into a global pandemic and in the final stretch of his reelection campaign in which he has flouted scientific and medical experts' guidance on preventing the disease's spread.
This most serious known health threat to a sitting American president in decades. At 74 years old and obese, Trump falls into the highest risk category for serious complications from the disease, which has killed more than 208,000 Americans and infected more than 7.3 million Americans to date.
Trump tweeted shortly before 1 a.m. Friday."Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!".
A few hours later, the first lady wrote on Twitter that she and her husband were "feeling good."
President Trump was last seen in public on Thursday afternoon, returning to the White House after a fundraising trip to New Jersey. He did not appear ill, though he did not speak to reporters as he walked into his residence.
Later in the day, a memo issued to the media at around 1 a.m. ET, by the President's physician, Navy Cmdr. Dr. Sean Conleysaying that he received confirmation of the positive tests on Thursday evening.
Conley wrote, "The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence,"
He further added, The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country's greatest medical professionals and institutions,”without elaborating what assistance was being provided to the White House.
He added "Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any further developments.”
As of press time, it is still not known if the President would start wearing a face mask diligently to avoid spreading the virus to others or would he go into quarantine.
It is also not known if he would be put on the hydroxychloroquine treatment protocol that he had highly recommended or on intravenous bleach therapy.
Many Americans are willing to donate whatever stocks of hydroxychloroquine available to make sure that both he and his wife are well dosed with the drugs.
Many are also not sure if he will continue with his campaign trial while some are speculating that the infection could be fake as he might have some political games up his sleeve to show that COVID-19 is not that serious or that a vaccine might cure him in time for the elections!

President Trump has blatantly disregarded medical recommendations from his own coronavirus task force during the pandemic, proceeding with a busy schedule of packed campaign rallies. Most recently, his supporters stuffed into events in Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
It is not known as of this time if any of his followers had contracted the disease as a result of him or if he had been a super-spreader causing the spread of the virus to hundreds of his loyal fans during recent rallies as he was never seen wearing a mask.
Those events appear on hold for now as the President stays at the White House. Long guarded about his medical history, the President's most recent physical showed he weighed 243 pounds -considered obese for his height.
His physicians said he was in "very good health" in a readout of the exam.
It is also not known at this time what strain he is infected with but we are hoping that it’s the new V483G strain or if not at least the D614G strain.
