Medical News: A recent study has shed light on the financial relationships between doctors and pharmaceutical companies, particularly on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Conducted by a team of medical researchers from several U.S. institutions and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the study reveals that many doctors endorsing drugs on X are compensated by the drug manufacturers, raising ethical concerns about the objectivity of these endorsements.

Medical News would like to add that the study findings also show indirectly how stupid and racist many Western account holders on twitter are as they stupidly like to assume that most doctors and experts that originate from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, Germany or Switzerland are the only ones that are credible and know better and will follow them without these idiots realizing that the biggest scammers are likely to be such types of doctors who are only in for money. The same goes for many of the racist Western followers that assume that only
Medical News media from the West are the only credible ones! Its little wonder that various disease and health ailments are plaguing the West due the stupid and racist mentality of many there.
Focus of the Study
The researchers aimed to understand the extent to which pharmaceutical payments influence doctors' endorsements on social media. They concentrated on X, where they identified 28 doctors posting endorsements for various drugs. To verify whether these doctors were paid for their endorsements, the researchers utilized Open Payments, a comprehensive database managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This database tracks payments made to doctors by pharmaceutical companies, including for research, speaking fees, consulting, and other services.
Findings
Out of the 28 doctors identified, 26 had received payments from the drug manufacturers for the products they were endorsing. Furthermore, 24 of these doctors received payments specifically related to the drug they were promoting on X. The majority of these payments were categorized under "speaking" or "consulting," and most of the endorsements appeared to be sponsored testimonials. Only one doctor involved in the study had participated in the research leading to the development of the drug they were endorsing.
Legal but Ethical Concerns
In the United States, it is legal for pharmaceutical companies to advertise their products directly to consumers via various media, including social media. It is also legal for doctors to receive payments for endorsing these drugs. However, this practice raises significant ethical questions. While not illegal, the financial ties between doctors and pharmaceutical companies can create potential conflicts of i
nterest, compromising the integrity of medical advice shared with the public.
Case Study: Dr Drew Pinsky
One prominent example highlighted by the study is Dr Drew Pinsky, a well-known celebrity doctor. According to the Open Payments database, Pinsky received $60,000 in 2022 from Metuchen Pharmaceuticals, the maker of the erectile dysfunction medication Stendra. His compensation was for services other than consulting, including serving as faculty or a speaker at non-continuing education events. This case illustrates how financial incentives from pharmaceutical companies can influence endorsements made by high-profile medical professionals.
The Bigger Picture
The financial relationships between doctors and pharmaceutical companies are extensive. In 2022, doctors received a total of $12.58 billion from healthcare companies, with the Open Payments website tracking over 80 million records amounting to $68.44 billion in payments over several years. This transparency tool is crucial for the public to understand the financial dynamics within the healthcare industry.
However, the broader implications of these financial ties are concerning. Despite having the highest healthcare costs globally, the United States has the lowest life expectancy among wealthy nations. This paradox raises questions about whether these financial interactions genuinely benefit patients or primarily serve the interests of pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers.
Impact on Clinical Decision-Making
The study’s findings highlight the need for greater scrutiny of the financial relationships between doctors and pharmaceutical companies. Payments to doctors can represent legitimate scientific collaboration, but they can also involve marketing efforts without scientific benefits, potentially influencing clinical decision-making in ways that do not always align with patient best interests.
Conclusion
The study underscores the importance of transparency in the healthcare industry. While it is not illegal for doctors to receive payments from pharmaceutical companies, the potential conflicts of interest they create can undermine the trust between patients and healthcare providers. Patients should be aware of these financial ties and consider them when evaluating medical advice and drug endorsements, particularly on social media platforms like X. Moving forward, stricter regulations and increased transparency could help mitigate the ethical concerns and ensure that patient care remains the top priority.
The study findings were published in the peer reviewed JAMA journal.

Medical News would to add that there will be two more exposes soon on another list of doctors, researchers and ordinary individuals who are being paid by big Pharma to promote the COVID-19 vaccines directly or subtly. Also, there is another IO Ops being conducted by the WHN that is led by its Jewish head and it involves more than 337 accounts of some doctors, some non-doctors posing as doctors, some fake characters, males and females from countries like Canada, United States, Australia, France, New Zealand, Belgium, India and Japan. While some are real characters, the majority are not and they constantly post or repost news or developments about COVID-19 but they are all being paid to gather as much followers so that the WHN can subtly influence these stupid individuals. The group with all these accounts has a combined access to more than 11 million stupid individuals. The whole IO ops are developed and initiated by a Thai forest monk in the North of Thailand and other Thais involved in illegal crypto exchanges etc. The same Thai group was lasts involved in similar IO ops during the last elections to help a certain political party to win but they could not form the coalition to run the country.
