COVID-19 New Briefs
JN.1.11 And Its Spawns Are Fast Rising In India.
Thailand Medical News has been warning constantly warning about the rise of the JN.1.11 variant in India for a while now.

But it is coming to light that even the genomic sequences being uploaded on GISAID does not seem to even correlate with the daily figures that Indian health authorities announces each day. Although as reported in the article linked above that Indian authorities are not uploading all the sequences they acquire each day and only a proportion is shared, still the number of sequences especially of that of JN.1.11 and its spawns are worrisome.

The rise in spread of the JN.1.11 and its spawns are also correlating with the rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the affected states.

;
While Finland had been going thru a number of bad COVID-19 surges during that same time frame, it also has a high COVID-19 mRNA vaccination rate and also numerous vaccination campaigns held during the same period of time. It is hard to pinpoint what is driving these excess deaths i.e.whether it’s the COVID-19 infections or the mRNA vaccines or both.

More People In The Eu Region Are Suffering From Memory and Concentration issues
According to a Eurostat report based on data accumulated in 2022, memory and concentration issues were reported by 15% of individuals in the EU. The highest proportions of these challenges were found in Finland (33.6%), Denmark (26.7%), the Netherlands (26.0%), Sweden (25.2%), and Estonia (24.9%). Conversely, Cyprus (5.7%), Malta (6.5%), Ireland (7.3%), Bulgaria (7.9%), and Hungary (8.0%) reported the lowest percentages.
Notably, there were significant disparities between those at risk of poverty (AROP) and those not. While 13.9% of individuals not at risk reported such difficulties, this figure rose to 19.9% for those at risk of poverty.
The gap between individuals at risk of poverty and those not at risk exceeded 20 percentage points in some EU countries. Croatia recorded a 23.9 pp difference (16.2% vs. 40.1%), while Estonia showed a 21.2 pp difference (19.4% vs. 40.6%). Latvia (16.2 pp), Sweden (15.8 pp), and the Netherlands (14.3 pp) also displayed significant disparities.

It would be interesting to analyze these data versus COVID-19 infections rates and also vaccination rates in these countries to see if they are any possible associations.
