COVID-19 News: While China a week ago had reported that COVID-19 cases and respiratory infections were decreasing in the country after a surge of a “mysterious white lung pneumonia” that started wreaking havoc in the country in mid-November, emerging reports are indicating the provinces of Hena, Anhui and Shanxi are undergoing exponential increases of a respiratory infection that is causing hospitals to be overwhelmed and crematoriums to be working overtime!

Concerns are arising not just from Henan province but also from neighboring Anhui and Shanxi Provinces in China.

Alarming reports are emerging from these provinces in China, indicating a troubling situation with the ongoing waves of COVID-19 infections. Residents from Henan province in the north have provided insights into the ground reality, revealing that the medical system has allegedly been instructed not to attribute deaths to COVID-19.

According to Xiang Zhou, a resident of Nanyang, Henan Province, the current viral wave has resulted in a significant loss of lives, overwhelming local crematoriums that operate continuously day and night. Despite having eight cremation furnaces, the facilities are reportedly struggling to keep pace with the increasing number of fatalities.

Mr Zhou explained that hospitals in the region tend to attribute these deaths to pre-existing health conditions, particularly in older individuals with issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes or heart issues. However, he emphasized that these individuals had been managing their conditions effectively with medication until they contracted the latest outbreak of COVID-19. Subsequently, their health deteriorated rapidly, leading to tragic outcomes that the medical system hesitates to link directly to the virus.

In an effort to downplay the impact of COVID-19, the official narrative reportedly focuses on attributing deaths to underlying health conditions. One resident shared a personal account of his uncle's demise, even though the individual had received a COVID-19 vaccine manufactured in China. Hospitals are reportedly inundated with patients, with numerous cases of the "white lung syndrome," a pneumonia symptom visible on X-rays. Despite this, some patients are being discharged before fully recovering.

The current wave of infections began spreading across China in September, with the Chinese Communist Party attributing the outbreak to influenza, RSV infections and mycoplasma pneumonia while playing down the role of COVID-19.

These new emerging reports highlight a concerning situation in Henan, Anhui, and Shanxi provinces, warranting attention and further investigation and validation.

While China has reported the emergence of the JN.1 variant in the country, local researchers are skeptical that the JN.1 variant is behind what is unfolding in Henan, Anhui and Shanxi.

Some are speculating that either a new SARS-CoV-2 virus is behind the growing rapid deaths in these provinces or that a new pathogen could be at play.

Thailand Medical News will be providing more updates soon after we have verified if all these reports are true.
