This roughly works out to about 465 hospitalizations per day.
Many private hospitals are reporting that there are already beginning to feel the stress as ICU wards and COVID-19 beds are filling up fast and to add to the worrisome issues, many hospitalized for COVID-19 are taking a longer time to recover this time round, hence there are fewer beds being freed for others.
It was also reported that there were 16 deaths for the same period of time.

A total of 336 of these new hospitalized cases required mechanical ventilation while a total of 709 of these cases required ICU care due to severe respiratory disease syndrome.

Many local
Thailand Medical experts are warning that the actual numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths could be much higher that what is being reported and that as a result of the lack of proper date being reported by the Thai health authorities, the degree of spread among the local population is not known and could be in a very alarming state.
The local health authorities do not report the total infections in the country, the number of COVID-19 test conducted weekly nor about the test positivity rates. The recovery rates and the numbers discharged from hospitals are also not reported.
We can expect the usual “medical clowns’ in the typical garbage mainstream media to come up with statements later in the day that the new variants are not causing disease severity or that vaccination is critical as it provides protection or in the worse scenario they might admit that the new KP.3 and LB.1 variants are more immune evasive or more transmissible and that individuals need to protect themselves more and need to get vaccinated!
It should be noted that preliminary studies and data are already questioning the effectiveness of the current vaccines against the new KP.3 and LB.1 strains.

Both the KP.3 and LB.1 variants have already been found in Thailand but there have been no official statements about the disc
overy of the LB.1 variant in Thailand by so called local medical ‘experts’ so far.

In fact, worryingly, the number of genomic sequencings conducted by Thailand seems to be declining.

Thailand is currently facing a slow and bad economic phase with the exception of only the rich, the corrupted and certain politicians who are doing extremely well and are prospering. The country is desperate for the tourist dollar and hence it is unlikely to bring up much alerts about COVID-19 surges or the possible emergence of any new worrisome influenza viruses.
It is best that locals and expats with brains, take their own initiatives to protect themselves and their loved ones from the newer SARS-CoV-2 variants. Unlike previous surges, do not expect this current surge to peak and die off as it this time round, it will last for an extended period of time as many newer SARS-CoV-2 variants are rapidly emerging to replace these predominant variants fast and keep on causing reinfections.
