Notably, the incidence of COVID-19 decreased by almost 83% compared to 2022, with 2.1 million cases recorded throughout the year. Among children under 17 years of age, the incidence was seven times lower. The "omicron" variant was predominant in nearly 100% of cases then. In the current COVId-19 surge, the new SARS-CoV-2 KP variants are the predominant circulating variants.
