Dutch technology company Royal Philips has unveiled its new cardiovascular ultrasound system EPIQ CVx to offer solutions for diagnostic, pediatric and interventional applications.
The company used an EPIQ ultrasound platform to design the new system, which offers advanced image quality through a new generation organic light-emitting diode (OLED) monitor.
The system uses anatomical intelligence to provide higher processing power, image clarity and sharpness, as well as exam efficiencies and reproducible quantification.
The cardiovascular ultrasound system also features the advanced obstetric ultrasound visualisation tool, TrueVue, which enables clinicians to examine the heart through photorealistic renderings and offers enhanced cardiac anatomy analysis.
Philips’ cardiac ultrasound general manager David Handler said: “As pressures on
healthcare systems around the world continue to increase, cardiologists have more patients to examine in less time.
“By using advanced 3D organ modelling, image slicing and proven quantification, anatomical intelligence is helping make ultrasound exams easier to perform and more reproducible.
“With the EPIQ CVx and its
cardiology-centric design, clinicians can perform fast exams with enhanced diagnostic information. The EPIQ CVxi is our third-generation integrated ultrasound-angiography cath lab solution for real-time, workflow-optimized image guidance and advanced quantification for structural heart procedures.”
The tool also features a dynamic heart model to automatically quantify left ventricle function for multi-beat analysis in adult patients.
In addition, the unit simplifies paediatric cardiac exams with the new S9-2 PureWave Transducer.
Philips claims that the new system received positive feedback from 95% of a group of clinicians for its image quality.
